Come to a LIVE concert this Thursday, June 25th from 12 to 4pm SLT! We're celebrating Rhapsody Sorbet's rez day!

Since Rhapsody arrived here in Second Life two years ago, she has tirelessly and passionately dedicated much of her Second Life to our guests. Rhapsody has spent uncountable hours affectionately tending to every detail of island life. From attracting and booking the best talent for our live concerts to landscaping and even animation selection and placement, Rhapsody's goal has always been customer service and satisfaction. Her true affection for Rhapsody Isles has been the guiding force in creating a quiet and elegant atmosphere for love and romance!

In her honor and for your pleasure we will be bring you four of the most popular and talented artists in Second Life. This event will be held at the beautiful Concert Lawn at Rhapsody Isles and features CelticMaidenWarrior Lancaster (12-1pm slt), ShantuSelene (1-2pm slt), ZDIva Sorbet (2-3pm slt) and Erin68 Frog and Satin Galli (3-4pm slt).

LIVE! 12 pm PDT Thursday 6/25/2009 at the Concert Lawn on Rhapsody Isles

CelticMaidenWarrior taught herself to play the guitar in 1971 when she was 13 years old. Her first performance was at an 8th grade talent contest, for which she sang Kris Kristofferson’s “Me and Bobby McGee”. She spent her teen years in the middle of her bed with her John Denver song books. When she left home to join the military, she married and quickly started a family which left little time for guitar playing. During the mid 1980’s she found comfort in performing worship music for her mission church in Okinawa, Japan, as well as singing in a contemporary Christian band which toured around the island. She performed in the USOs for American Military servicemen and their families. Celtic also broadcast live on Japanese radio from the Okinawa Zoo, and Botanical Gardens. She traveled to the Philippines and performed for 5000 people in a dilapidated athletic auditorium and traveled around the barrios sharing music with the local people. Now Celtic is playing everything from folk to classic rock easy listening and rounds it off with traditional Celtic ballads (which she does acapella).

Shantu, in RL Danny Bowman, was flirting with music long before he picked up his first guitar. His mother favored country artists, but Shantu couldn't stop singing Elvis tunes. Even as a child he was arranging, singing into a vacuum cleaner hose to create reverb. Adding the guitar and forming a band at 14 was logical progression of this relationship with music for Shantu. He dated around a bit, playing with many bands throughout high school. He learned from each experience, but always found himself coming back to the songs he'd grown up with.
